One of the priority programs of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to help combat climate change is the National Geohazard Assessment and Mapping Program being implemented by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB). The program covers identification of areas vulnerable or susceptible to geological hazards such as flooding, landslide and ground subsidence (sinkhole) and information dissemination to various stakeholders aimed at increasing awareness and preparedness on the various natural hazards. AJA Registrars Inc. (certifying body) issued attestation to the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region XII for International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The attestation is a recommendation to the review body for the office to be issued ISO certification.
AJA completed the audit for ISO 9001:2015 quality management system for stages 1 and 2 on November 26 and December 10, 2016, respectively. It assessed the processes and services of the office covering Geosciences, Mine Management, Mine Safety Environment and Social Development, and Finance and Administrative Divisions. The audit team looked into the evidences, document information in the form of procedures or records and observance of the office practices on the implementation of the management system and conformance to the established requirements and procedures. The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region XII passed the stage 1 audit for ISO 9001:2015, quality management system. Ms. Ingrid Manglapus of AJA Registrars Inc. (formerly AJA EQS Phil., Inc.), conducted stage 1 audit in the office on November 26, 2016. Stage 1 is the determination of the readiness of the office for a full audit by checking if the required processes and procedures are in place.
