MGB XII office ground breaking ceremony

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region XII, held a ground breaking ceremony on their proposed three (3) storey building (Phase I) on April 2, 2013 after several years of renting an office in Koronadal City. The construction of three (3) storey building (Phase I) is having an initial approved capital outlay of Php 8M only. Information Officers attend educational mine visit in Toledo City

March 19, 2013-The Department of Environment & Natural Resources Region XII Information Officers from the CENROs, PENROs, Regional Public Affairs Office ,EMB XII and MGB XII and through PIA Regional Director Olivia T. Sudaria, some government agencies Information Officers who are members of the Information Coordinating Network (ICON) attended the educational mine visit in Toledo City. The ICON members include regional officers of PIA, NTC, DA, DEPED, South Cotabato Information Office, South Cotabato Provincial DAR, LGUs, pastors, radio and print media .These 37 persons of the 6th batch for CY 2013 were very thankful on the knowledged and experienced during the mine visit on March 13-16, 2013 at Carmen Copper Corporation (CCC) in Toledo City. The mine visit aims to extend the understanding on what responsible mining is all about, mining best practices, actual processes and technologies on mining, environmental protection and enhancement program and corporate social responsibility. The “seeing is believing” mine visit is an initiative program of the Stakeholders and Disclosure Program of Sagittarius Mines Inc. (SMI). Read More
SRMA Officers take oath of Office

SOCCSKSARGEN RESPONSIBLE MINERS ASSOCIATION (SRMA) RXII officers pledged their oath of office held at London Beach Resort, General Santos City on February 12, 2013 after duly elected on December 11, 2012. Officiated and administered the oath taking was MGB XII Regional Director Constancio A. Paye, Jr. and witnessed by DTI-South Cotabato Provincial Director Flora Gabulanes with some members of the mining companies. Taking the lead to solemnly abide and support the Constitution, By-Laws and Policies of the SOCCSKSARGEN RESPONSIBLE MINERS ASSOCIATION and to faithfully, impartially and justly perform all the duties were SRMA President, Mr. Joel Q. Bernales of KMC; Vice President, Mr. Joseph Palanca of SMI; Secretary, Ms. Silin Awed of TMC, and Treasurer, Mr. Joseph Jubelag of GIMC. The members of the said mining association are the following: Sagittarius Mines Inc. (SMI), Tribal Mining Corporation (TMC), Epochina Mining Corporation (EMC), GRCO Isulan Mining Corporation (GIMC), Kiamba Mining Corporation (KMC), RX11 Mineral Development. | The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Regional Offices (ROs) nationwide, in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government, conducted simultaneous Regional Small-scale Mining Summits on the proposed amendments to the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act No. (RA) 7076, or the “Peoples Small-scale Mining Act of 1991”. Said Summits were attended by representatives from the Provincial and City Mining Regulatory Boards (P/CMRBs) of the respective regions.
